Making the deal

I meant to post this a while ago, but now will do. When we found out that we were having twins early last year we knew that we'd have to sell Tanya's SUV. When the buyer, a Japanese auto broker, showed up to pick up the X5 he was carrying a silver briefcase. I had to look twice to see if he had it chained to his wrist, he didn't. Inside the case he had $28,000 in $20 bills. I just wish we could have kept the cash and gone on vacation instead of paying off BofA. 🙂

Dang cute kids

I've got some cute kids! When I get home at 7am from teaching Seminary the twins are usually waking up. They like Baby Einstien but will only sit and watch for a second or two. They like to explore and get into all sorts of mischief.

Newport Coast

I have an amazing wife, and this weekend I had her all to myself. It took two sets of Grandparents to make it happen, but between them all we got a couple of nights to ourselves down at Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas in, well, Newport Coast. This place is truly beautiful and inspiring. I have been able to clear my head of a lot of the stresses of life and focus on some goals. We went to Emerald Cove (I think that’s the name) and walked along the beach a bit today. I was upset that neither of us brought our phones or camera so we couldn’t take some pictures of the great little beach with amazing water and a perfectly blue sky. We walked out along the rocks around a point and found a cool little cove with sand comprised of millions of broken mussels shells. The water there was crystal clear and the whole thing was stunning. As we walked along the beach and subsequently drove along many of the streets of Laguna Beach it was inspiring to a capitalist such as myself. To see the balance of nature and human ‘improvements’ was great. I found a couple of hotels that need renovating and a new marketing plan, a few homes whose current state is seriously under utilizing the precious land that they occupy… it was truly captivating.

Carousels

I think that Taylor has riden dozens of different carousels across California in her 3 short years. She loves them!

California Adventure

We had a great time out at DCA with Josh & Erika, then headed over to Dland to meet Craig & Sara. The Old Peak Lane had a good time hanging out sans kids.

Newport Beach Marriot

Tanya and I enjoyed a quick getaway to the Newport Marriot. We love it there because there is an awesome spa and the rooms have a killer ocean view. The nice people at the hotel sent us up this complementary ammenity… Awesome!

Starting up again

I started this blog when I was still 23 years old, and haven’t used it that much. Since then a lot of people have started blogging and blogs in general are much more widely used. I’m going to start posting more on this… I think.
